Local Plan and Cycling

On 26 May 2016, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council adopted the Local Plan to guide future development in the borough, covering the period 2011 to 2029.

Cycle Basingstoke has been involved in public hearings and consultations throughout the process of developing the Plan to champion the inclusion of good cycling infrastructure:

Public hearings (closed Wednesday 11 November 2015)
Heather as CTC Right to Ride representative has been speaking for cyclists at various public hearing sessions:

  • On 15th October about cycling and housing sites North of Popley and Razors Farm.
  • On 20th October aboutManydown
  • On 21th October about sites along the A30 at Basingstoke Golf course, Kennel Farm, Hansome Fields and the Critical Care Hospital near North Waltham. Roundabouts and also Fiveways Kempshott are major problems for cyclists.
  • Thursday 5th November, last meeting with the Inspector, devoted to transport.
