Cycle Basingstoke working on the new cycle map

posted Aug 26, 2015, 4:50 AM by Heather Rainbow
On Tuesday 18 August Cycle Basingstoke members met with Sustrans and officers at the Borough Council to discuss progress on the new cycle map and the cycle strategy.
Over 2,000 responses were made to the map consultation and 744 problems or issues identified!
The top five problems were
  • places to avoid
  • busy junctions
  • barriers
  • lack of signage
  • lack of a crossing.

Sustrans has identified some really good routes which need little tweeking in order to become usable.

Cycle Basingstoke pushed for other things such as better maintenance of paths and rights of Way as well as the need for blue cycle superhighway along the A30 and part of the A33
