Kempshott cycle plan

posted Feb 16, 2016, 11:54 AM by Heather Rainbow
How can Kempshott be made more cycle friendly?
Submit your ideas to Basingstoke cyclescape  and come to our Kempshott meeting in April.

In response to the Neighbourhood Plan survey there is a need for:

  • cycle routes to schools, esp cycle routes to secondary schools and other popular destinations such as Down Grange
  • solutions to conflict between cyclists and pedestrians and cyclists, cyclists and motorists
  • more cycle training
  • maintenance of existing cycle routes (especially the Oakley route)

If you wish to come to the next meeting contact Cycle Basingstoke  or the Kempshott community plan

At the recent Local Plan inquiry in 2016 Cycle Basingstoke got agreement from the County Council to provide a "blue superhighway for cycling" along the A30 from near Junction 7 of the M3 as far as Brighton Hill roundabout.  This is essential if Kempshott youngsters are to reach the various secondary schools quickly and safely as well as reducing a lot of motor congestion.

Existing footpaths and cyclepaths can be viewed on open street map
